Safety Day Poland

Iturri’s Safety Day took place on the 12th of May 2017 in Zawiercie (Poland), during this day professionals, experts and manufacturers came together to share experiences and to get to know the latest innovations in safety materials, both for the work place and for use by the employees.

400 people participated in the event, including representatives from some of the biggest safety companies in the Polish market as well as manufacturers of protective equipment, experts from the sector as well as experts in work inspections and occupational safety.

The objective of this edition was none other than to reinforce and strengthen a new safety culture based on teamwork aided by new technology. For that reason the event’s slogan was “Be safe. Behave.”

Without a doubt, the most interesting topics were the use of new technology for improving the safety culture in our companies, as well as the use of signs, the ASA and LTS safety culture programmes and the use of virtual reality (VR) to train staff in how to act in risk situations.

The new exoskeleton solutions which Iturri is promoting with their partner Laevo were presented in the ergonomics field. This new equipment has been developed in order relieve pressure in the lower back for those workers who carry out tasks on a daily basis which in the long term will lead to lower back injuries.

To end the day a workplace simulation was organized displaying different risks and the participants (the majority of who were responsible for their safety departments) audited the risks, and discussed the best solutions for eliminating or reducing said risks.
